Cinedeck at IBC 2025

Cinedecks strength lies in ingest and live recording solutions optimized for edit readiness. At IBC, they leaned into newer compact recorders and paying attention to file formats and integration.

What’s New

  • RX3 compact recorder
Cinedeck showed the RX3, which can handle multi-channel ingest, record to ProRes, DNx, H.264 etc., and writes simultaneously to local and network storage. It’s built for OB, flypacks, and compact live systems. (Mentioned in earlier drafts)

  • Lowering ingest-to-edit latency
One of their goals is shrinking the delay between capture and having editable media — fewer transcodes, better container support, smarter multiplexing.

  • Better integration with post & archive ecosystems
They highlight smoother handoffs into shared storage, archive systems, and metadata propagation so that media doesn’t get “orphaned” after the live event.

What You Get

  • Instant readiness for editors
If the recorder can output edit-friendly formats immediately, your post team can start sooner, reducing buffer time between live capture and post.

  • Compact footprint, high capacity
In OB vans or limited spaces, the RX3’s compact design is a plus, combining power with flexibility.

  • Less media wrangling
Because of better integration, fewer manual steps are needed to move from capture to archive or long-term storage.
