Avid NEXIS | VFS 2025.5.3 Recommended Update Notice
Avid recommends that certain customers upgrade to Avid NEXIS | VFS 2025.5.3 from 2025.5.1 to address a performance regression identified in version 2025.5.1.
Who Should Upgrade
Customers are encouraged to upgrade if all the following criteria apply:
- Installed Version: Avid NEXIS | VFS 2025.5.1
- Features in Use: Media Mirroring
- Engine Model in Use (any of the following) :
-
- Avid NEXIS | F5
- Avid NEXIS | E5 with LACP configured on the Storage Engines, or
- Avid NEXIS | F2 or F2/F2X with 25Gbps network connections from the Storage Engines
- Network Configuration: Multiple writing (ingest) Avid NEXIS clients connected via 10Gbps or greater network interfaces
Important Note – Trusted Certificates
We are aware of an issue in Avid NEXIS | VFS 2025.5.3 affecting systems in which a certificate has been installed. In these cases, the Avid NEXIS Management Console will not start due to certificate initialization issues.
Avid is actively working on a solution, which will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
If your Avid NEXIS system relies on a certificate installed using the Avid NEXIS Management Console, you may wish to delay the upgrade until the workaround is released. Otherwise, affected systems meeting the above criteria are strongly encouraged to upgrade to 2025.5.3 to restore performance.
