Avid Media Composer 2026.8: What SNS Users Need to Know

If your post-production team relies on Avid Media Composer and SNS EVO, you probably have questions about what Media Composer 2026.8 means for your workflow.

A reminder on our current recommendation.
Stay on Media Composer 2025.12 and do not upgrade to Media Composer 2026.8 or later until further guidance is available.
If you have a specific requirement to move to Media Composer 2026.8 or later, please contact your account manager so that we can discuss the Media Composer Enterprise option and the associated licensing implications.
We are continuing to engage with Avid and will provide further information as formal guidance on the Ultimate-to-Enterprise migration path and associated commercial arrangements becomes available.

“Our priority is to make sure customers understand the implications of this change before making any decisions around upgrading their Media Composer environment. For customers relying on 3rd party AvidStyle media spaces for bin sharing and bin locking, our current recommendation is to remain on Media Composer 2025.12 while the position around future versions and licensing becomes clearer.”
