Now Available: Avid NEXIS 2026.6 Release

The Avid NEXIS 2026.6 update was released today, Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

Avid NEXIS 2026.6 is a recommended upgrade focusing on OS modernization, cloud scalability on AWS, and enhanced management visibility. 

Here is a highlight of what's in the update:

  1. Modernize Infrastructure:Supports Rocky Linux and Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, aligning with enterprise and cloud OS standards and easing deployments in modern Linux environments.
  1. Scale Cloud Workflows:AWS Cloud Storage now supports up to 600 active clients, enabling large facilities to expand cloud editing without redesigning infrastructure; Ubuntu 24.04 client support broadens workstation compatibility.  
  1. Improved Management Console:Adds System Status History for trend analysis and incident resolution, plus direct access to Management API documentation to aid automation workflows. API documentation is also now available publicly at https://api.nexis.avid.com/ 
  1. PKIX Certificate Support: Enables compliance with enterprise and government security audits by allowing VFS Gateway to use PKIX-compliant certificates, facilitating deployment approvals.

NEXIS 2026.6 is a recommended upgrade for all Avid NEXIS systems.

As with any infrastructure update, we advise:

  • Reviewing the Avid NEXIS ReadMe in full

  • If your Running MAC OS Tahoe , hold fire, contact us first.
  • Confirming compatibility with your existing software stack

  • Planning updates outside of critical production windows
