Avid NEXIS 2025.10.0 - What’s New, What to Know, and How We’re Helping Teams Stay in Sync

At Altered, we work closely with media and entertainment teams who depend on Avid NEXIS for fast, reliable, and secure shared storage. This month, Avid has released NEXIS 2025.10.0, introducing fresh updates for both on-premises and cloud workflows — and we’re here to break down what’s new, what’s important, and how to keep your system running smoothly.

What Makes Avid NEXIS the Industry Standard

Avid NEXIS is purpose-built for media workflows — from editing and finishing to audio post and broadcast. When paired with Pro Tools, Media Composer, or MediaCentral, it provides a powerful foundation for teams who need to collaborate on large-scale projects without compromising performance or security.

Its unique collaborative architecture allows editors, mixers, and producers to work together on shared media in real time — wherever they are.

What’s New in the 2025.10.0 Release

The latest version brings important updates for both system administrators and end users:

  • Client-only release for on-premises systems

  • Full cloud kit release for hybrid and cloud environments

  • Updated Setup, Administration, and Maintenance guides

  • Refreshed Client Manager documentation for easier configuration and user management

Full release details can be found in the Avid NEXIS ReadMe v2025.10.0, available through the Avid Knowledge Base.

Compatibility Notice — Update Recommended

Avid has identified a server–client compatibility issue that can cause media consistency errors when using NEXIS 2023.8 or newer clients with 2023.8 or older servers.

To avoid any workflow interruptions, Avid strongly recommends upgrading your NEXIS core to version 2023.12 or later.

See the Avid NEXIS Compatibility Notice and FAQ for more information.

If you’re unsure about your system’s compatibility or upgrade path, Altered can help you review, plan, and roll out the right update safely.

At Altered, we’re helping teams design hybrid environments that bring the best of both worlds — on-prem control with cloud agility.
