EditShare at IBC 2025

We were also on the floor at EditShare’s booth (7.A35), watching demos, hearing roadmap presentations, and lining up with customers to see how the new features perform in real pipelines. Here’s our full breakdown — what was shown, what’s exciting, and why (as your trusted reseller) this gives you more reason to anchor your shared media + workflow infrastructure on EditShare.

What EditShare unveiled (and what grabbed attention)

EditShare’s IBC presence was all about scalability, performance, and automation — pushing deeper into NVMe, hybrid workflows, and smarter media movement. Their announcements were more evolutionary than ground-up, but that’s precisely their strength: tightening the parts that determine performance and day-to-day efficiency.

Here are the key points:

  • Expanded NVMe “Ultimate” Nodes
EditShare introduced more options in their Ultimate line:
      • Ultimate 24 NVMe Node: designed for ultra-high performance tasks like 8K finishing and VFX, now shipping.
      • Ultimate NVMe Lite: a cost-optimized 2RU NVMe option (eight drives) with ~14 GB/s throughput — making NVMe access more accessible.
      • Ultimate Hybrid NVMe/HDD Node: gives you the ability to mix fast NVMe and high-capacity HDD in one chassis, and move content between tiers on demand.
      • Enhanced EFS Field: their portable, rugged NVMe system got a boost: more capacity (122 TB), live ingest, secure, verified media transfer and better multisite integration.

  • FLOW Automation – “Send to Site”
One of the most compelling new workflow features is a task in FLOW called Send to Site. It allows teams to move media, proxies, metadata between locations (e.g. remote edit sites, base, post house) securely and automatically. It integrates with their multisite architecture and Warp transfer engines. No more manual wrangling, sidecar file confusion, or broken links.

  • MediaSilo + Louper Integration
For review/approval and remote collaboration, they demoed MediaSilo’s real-time frame-accurate review powered by Louper (synchronized sessions where participants see exact frames, can annotate, comment, etc.). This reduces confusion, versioning problems, and speeds approvals.

  • Atomos Camera-to-Cloud + Live Integration Demos
At their booth they ran live proxy ingest from cameras into the EditShare ecosystem, pushing content directly into MediaSilo for immediate remote access. That’s a strong demonstration of reducing lag between capture and asset availability.

  • Specialist & Creative Integrations
They also showed supporting workflows for high-end DI / VFX (Lasergraphics 5K 16-bit DPX integration), and multi-channel frame-accurate NDI ISO ingest. Plus newsroom integrations (notably with Octopus) to show how media and rundowns can be tightly linked.

Why this matters — from our lens at Altered Images

If there was a theme to what we saw, it was enabling scale and efficiency without forcing disruptive overhauls. For facilities, post houses, broadcast operations, and content creators, those subtleties add up. Here’s how the new EditShare updates translate to real gains:

  • Unleash more editing power, even on big formats
Want to run real-time 8K finishing, VFX, or DI? The Ultimate NVMe nodes (especially the 24 NVMe) mean you can push throughput boundaries on shared storage. No more crippling lag, no waiting, less proxy reliance.

  • Bring NVMe to more workflows at lower cost
NVMe used to be premium only; the Lite tier brings many of the speed benefits into more mid-tier systems, so more clients can enjoy faster projects without overspending.

  • Smart storage tiering and management
Mixing NVMe + HDD in one system gives flexibility: hot projects live on NVMe, archival/historical stuff stays on HDD, and movement between tiers is easier. You spend less on “always fast” storage for everything.

  • Better remote/hybrid workflows
Send to Site is a big leap: teams in London, Manchester, or even globally can move assets in a controlled, automated way. Less friction, fewer manual mistakes, faster turnarounds.

  • Faster feedback cycles, fewer review errors
MediaSilo + Louper for frame-accurate remote review fixes many of the grief points with versioning, comment alignment, mis-syncs, etc. Time gets saved, clarity improves.

  • Reduced latency from capture to edit
With the camera-to-cloud demos, you cut the “wait period” between shooting and having assets available for editors. That’s a huge advantage when deadlines are tight or remote capture is the norm.

  • Stronger integrations with specialist tools
Because EditShare showed support for DPX, NDI ingest, newsroom tools, and more, you don’t feel forced into a monolithic system. It plays well with what customers already do — which lowers upgrade risk.

As an Altered Images partner, our job is making sure you get systems that are fit for your future — not just the next two years. With these updates, EditShare is showing how their platform scales and adapts, not aging out. We’ll make recommendations, spec out project systems correctly, and help you move from “old school SAN” to a media-centric, high throughput, hybrid future.
