Important Update Media Composer 2018.12.3
Due to some critical customer issues, Avid is releasing Media Composer 2018.12.3. It will be made available, April 2nd at 12 PM EDT. Updates to Media Composer | First, Media Composer (subscription and perpetual), and Media Composer | Ultimate will be released at the same time, and will be made available from Avid Master Accounts, Application Manager, and the Avid Download Center (login and password required).
The issues it addresses are:
- Mac: Memory usage would grow until the application becomes very sluggish and beach balls. On systems with 32 GB RAM the usage would get as high as 28 GB with performance severely degraded
- Playback stops when adding Audio Mark In/Out
- Media Composer transcodes have color primaries of BT.601 when it should be BT.709
- Can’t select “Enable Mask Margin” or “Include Inactive Audio Tracks” check box in AAF export dialog
