Three Decades Supporting Post & VFX Workflows

With almost 30 years in the post-production industry, Ian Burling brings a depth of technical knowledge shaped by hands-on experience across facilities, VFX studios, resellers, and system integrators. 

After returning to higher education as a mature student and completing a BSc in Music Technology, Ian began his career working for a London based reseller before moving in-house at a large Bristol post-production facilityFilms @59. There, his role focused on providing technical support to the picture finishing department, alongside managing complex technical projects. 

During this time, Ian project-managed the build and technical installation of a Dolby certified multipurpose DI grading and audio dubbing theatre, gaining invaluable insight into facility design and operational requirements. 

Returning to the world of resellers and system integrators, Ian has spent the past decade specialising in VFX workflows – most notably Autodesk Flame – providing day-to-day technical support and systems integration for VFX studios and freelance clients across the UK.
